S.T.R.E.E.T.S "Invaders from Gnars" (2009)

I love this album. RKL FIFH type shit, intricate double guitars and solos. Precise rhythm and drummage. Whadda you think?

Mission of Burma "Forget" (Outtakes 79-82) Taang

By far , my favorite Mission o Burma release. These are outakes and demos from their studio work between 79 and 82. Raw and honest, I appreciate this release very much. The more contrived studio albums, I can do without. Enjoy!

The DT's "Hard Fixed" (2004)

Former Mono- Man Dave Crider hooked up with a lady that has chops that would rival Janis and any MOtown Diva. Diana Young Blanchard blows doors down with her throaty sexy vocal delivery. The band matches her power and gruffness beautifully. Great shit indeed.

Moby Grape "Wow" 1968

This album was on heavy rotation at the Blacker house from as early as I can remember. Dad loves Moby Grape and my personal favorite was this album, their second, which was released with a live album called Grape Jam in a double package. Essential listening, in my opinion.

BAD RELIGION "Into the Unknown"

Personally, I really enjoyed this LP , however, I was also discovering :La Villa Strangiata" and "2112" at the same time and having a  healthy supply of clean blotter acid, for a period of about 3-4 years, seemed to enhance the experience. The record pile was my University.

Emmylou Harris "Spyboy" 1998

Refreshing and beautiful 1998 release from the one and only Emmylou Harris. She teams up with the New Orleans best rhythm section of Blade and Johnston and enlists country great Buddy Miller on guitar to play fresh new originals and give tribute to some of the best songs created.

Highly recommended!

Going out to walk the Pier during the storm. Crazy shit, was awesome!
Double Sixes ,buey!
Awesome shrimp, courtesy of Trangs Seafood market, which we visited in the middle of a storm, but made out with huge scallops, 4 pounds of these shrimp (no sodium tripolyphosphate), and 4 pounds of sole whitefish for under $60, and the produce market next door is kick ass, run by Asians and Mexicans we felt right at home speaking Spanish and getting all the shit we needed for all week. Phil bought tamales from the Tamale ladies too, which were awesome!!

Photo #1 from blackout night. Me and Phil had been drinking since around Noon that day and had a great idea that we should go have A drink at the neighborhood bar Winston's.
At Winston's, we both have no recollection how we got home. Dad found me on Cable street not far from the house "drunk and disorderly", and Phil showed up at the back gate nearly an hour later all wet and full of sand. I thought it was hilarious. I drank alone for the next three days. LOL

OB kicks ass!
